POEMS FOR CHILDREN
And their wonderful world of imagination
DUCKS
Ducks are lazy They're very slack They never sing They just say quack When I watch them walk I have to smirk They waddle along Like their legs wont work The reason for this Is simple to find The knees on their legs Have slipped behind No, that can't be the reason Because it's so clear Every bird that I see Has its knees at the rear That's where birds wear them So when they land in the trees There is never the danger Of bumping their knees When I look at the feet Of a little sparrow Their feet are real small And very narrow But duck's feet keep spreading From where they begin They really need shoes To keep them in All duck's feet are wide And very flat No shop would ever Sell shoes like that So they can't buy shoes Or even a thong And that is the reason They waddle along But the ducks don't care They don't give a hoot And I love all ducks 'Cause I think they're cute K.D.
