LOVE IS....
| Love is such a little word And yet it means so much It's in the faces of our children It's in a mother's touch It's in so many things we do And many things we see Love is the emotion That lets happiness run free Love has lived within us Since our life on earth began It's abundant in a woman And there's even some in man It's not just for the 'lovers' Who have found their perfect mate It's in all the many wondrous things That we appreciate It's in the way we love our sport And joys we find ideal Love can be determined By the happiness we feel It's in our favourite hobby Or perhaps our favourite book Or time spent in our garden Or the treats you love to cook It's in how some folk worship It's clasped in their belief It's in how we treat our fellow man And help them through their grief It's the treasure that we carry No matter where we roam It's in the eyes of every dog That welcomes master home It's at the root of every charity In the friendship of a mate And when you fill your heart with love There's little room for hate Love and understanding Can cure most worldly sores With love and understanding There'd be little need for wars And in the thick of battle Where the threat of death is rife It's the soldier's love of country That makes them risk their life It's in the way some greet each day They know the feeling well A person who does not have love Lives in an empty shell Love brings deep contentment That nothing can replace It puts a warmth within your soul A smile upon your face Each time you feel the joy of love A fresh, new flame will start Love stops dying embers From smothering your heart There may be no tomorrows Just once we'll pass this way And love makes life worth living Fill your heart with love today.
