MY GRANNY
a scrapbook she has devoted to the memory of her Grandmother.
I pay tribute to my granny In these treasured scrapbook pages She reared my mother's children From such very early ages Without the slightest hesitation She gave us love from that first day She gave us hope and understanding When our mother passed away One sister was just four Another, ten days old And though I was only five She reared us with a heart of gold Our world could have been so different But she made it Paradise We felt secure and so protected In the arms of Grandma Rice She was always there to guide us Through the sunshine and the rain She was always there to comfort us And ease each troubled pain She devoted her life to us And swept away our fears She was there to reassure us And wipe away our tears She was a mother and a playmate Our protector and best friend She gave us love that had no limit Right to the very end Words can not describe this woman They would fail to be precise For the purest love a heart can hold Dwelt in grandma Lina Rice With devotion and self sacrifice She gave all she had to give And I will always be so grateful Through all the life I have to live As we walk upon the road of life Many troubles are unfurled But it's people such as Grandma Who make this a better world I could discuss my problems with her She would always understand And I could feel her love flow through me Each time she held my hand I know that if there is a heaven That God will know her worth And that she will be rewarded For her kindness here on earth This is a scrapbook for my grandma And though some might think it quaint This is more than just a scrapbook This is my tribute to a saint K.D.
