TEAMWORK
It's teamwork that builds houses Or creates a fresh new road Teamwork is the element That lightens every load Paramedics, Airports, Lifeguards Employ it every day Our defence force uses teamwork To keep our foes at bay For all police and firemen It's an elementary drill And they employ it with such passion It becomes a polished skill The teamwork of a man and dog Ensures the flock won't roam It's the teamwork in a family That makes a house a home Teamwork builds a better world It builds it brick by brick It's the teamwork in the hospitals That helps to cure the sick The teachers employ teamwork To educate the young in schools And with patience and persistence They teach the 'golden rules' The teamwork at 'Lifeline' Fights depression's strife Their care and understanding Quite often saves a life The teamwork in a restaurant Prepares our favourite meal The teamwork of counsellors Can help a hurt to heal Without the teamwork of volunteers No charity could survive And search and rescue teamwork Brings many back alive The teamwork of scientists Put new 'cures' to the test Observe a guide dog and its owner You'll see teamwork at its best There's the Red Cross, and the Salvo's And the R.S.P.C.A The victories won by teamwork Are always on display Teamwork can thrive in armies Or it can work with only two It's really quite amazing The wonders it can do When people work together True friendship we embrace And the friendship we engender Passing years will not erase A kindly word or friendly smile Will often soothe an ache Just to know someone is on your side What a difference it can make The 'miracle' of teamwork Can be small or so profound It can merely ease a worried mind Or turn a life around Sometimes the biggest problems Will collapse neath teamwork's might There is no 'I' in teamwork We should keep that rule in sight When we lend a hand to others Teamwork has played its part And we receive a special payment A warmth within our heart The benefits of teamwork Are there for all to see If all countries would embrace it What a great world this would be K.D.
